Custom Earmolds & Ear Plugs

We often don’t realize that the noises we are exposed to can have damaging effects. For individuals who are regularly exposed to loud noises, or even those who take in the occasional concert, using specialized ear protection can make a huge difference in maintaining your hearing health. Anyone who works around heavy construction equipment, firearms, or even lawnmowers can benefit from custom hearing protection.

Our ears are designed to withstand noises within certain thresholds, but anything above and beyond these volumes can actually do physical damage to the delicate structure of our inner ears. Many of the following noises are especially dangerous with repeat exposure: lawn mowers, truck engines, motorcycles, garbage trucks, chain saws, pneumatic drills, loud music, gunshots, and jet engines, just to name a few.

At Freedom Hearing Center, we often find that patients purchase store-bought ear plugs in an attempt to protect their ears, but these products don’t offer full protection against high decibel noises. Our office provides custom earmolds and ear plugs to ensure you have the best possible protection against hearing loss.

Creating custom hearing protection isn’t as complicated as it sounds; our office staff will make an impression of your ear and from that we can create a variety of solutions. Many of our patients enjoy using custom sleep plugs if their partner snores, and those who love the water can benefit from custom fitted swim plugs.

We also have the capability to create musician monitors that allow you to hear your music without sacrificing its clarity or your hearing health. Some of our products can be combined with a filtered attenuator, which allows you to engage in conversation without having to remove your ear plugs.
