A patient care coordinator (PCC) is the first interaction patients will have with Freedom Hearing Center and is a very important role within the practice.  The PCC is responsible for interacting with patients in a healthcare setting and managing administrative tasks in their primary office as well as tasks for Freedom Hearing Center in general.  The list of responsibilities below is a general list of daily expectations but is not a complete list of all duties required.  The ideal candidate will be flexible, willing to learn, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Answer the phones in a timely manner
  • Collect patient data, schedule/reschedule appointments, and effectively manage daily schedule
  • Prepare for patient appointments by having paperwork and supplies ready for each appointment 
  • Greet patients professionally and notify providers of patient arrivals 
  • Collect patient paperwork, referrals, and copayments
  • Properly maintain patient records in the database (update demographic information annually, update equipment information, check-in/check-out equipment, etc.)
  • Maintain a clean and professional working environment
  • Attend after hours staff meetings, training, and education events as needed

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • 2 years front office or customer service experience strongly recommended
  • Ability to handle incoming telephone calls for multiple offices
  • Basic office skills (typing, scanning, faxing, filing, etc.)
  • Proficient with Computers (scheduling software and Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Personality and demeanor to deal with the public (must be patient, kind, and considerate)
  • Medical office experience is a plus
  • Must be flexible, dependable, and customer service oriented
  • Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other medical offices, co-workers, and most importantly our patients.
  • Willingness to float between Leonardtown/Solomons weekly and Prince Frederick/Waldorf occasionally

Position starts at $16.50 per hour

35 hour work week: 8:30am to 3:30pm
